Muncie Pride Campaign
“The Chamber is pleased to bring a message of pride to the community through recognition and celebration of volunteerism. This campaign will serve as a reminder that Muncie’s unique altruistic heritage continues today and can be seen in every cross section of our populace.”
Jay Julian, President/CEO, Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce
The Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Muncie Action Plan Steering Committee, is creating an ongoing “pride” media campaign that is designed to raise awareness of the extraordinary effort and commendable character of Muncie’s “unsung volunteers” – those who contribute often to improving the quality of life in our community.
To create a sense of pride in every Muncie citizen for being part of an unselfish, thoughtful, caring community – one that takes care of its own.
The campaign will feature selected Muncie volunteers through multimedia storytelling. Stories will be featured through print, outdoor, radio, television, online and social media. Campaign information and creative material may be found online at www.mymuncie.org
Phase I, Muncie Lives Muncie Gives, of the campaign was launched during the month of May 2011 with four stories featuring the Animal Rescue Foundation, Downtown Muncie’s Moped Posse, The Friends of Conley and LaLa’s Birthday Club. Phase II, MyMuncie.org, was launched in October 2013. Kick off of Phase II included stories featuring King, Oscar, Maude, as well as Jim & Sandy.
As of April 19, 2011, sponsor pledges exceeded $250,000 for the campaign launch.
“It’s all about self-respect and pride in ourselves and our collective selves (community). One feeds the other and together create the momentum and sustainability … to attract jobs and to attract people to live there.”
